Assynt writer Mandy Haggith is holding a launch event next Tuesday for her new project, The Liminal Zone.

She has received funding from Creative Scotland for the year long project which will see her explore the sea shore as a metaphor for edges and boundaries.

"I'll be writing poetry, walking and having conversations with artists in a range of different media," she said.

The launch will be via an interactive Zoom session and will be attended by fellow creatives Lynn Bennett-Mackenzie, Dorje Khandro Dawid and Anne Coomber.

Those attending will be asked to share what the seashore means to them.

Meanwhile Mandy has a busy programme of events lined up including a UHI Literature Society poetry workshop on Thursday, September 24.

A pre-shot film, taken at Clachtoll broch and on her sailing boat Each Mara, will be shown at the Scottish International Storytelling Festival on October 18.

Mandy said: "I'll also be doing a series of events over the winter using word play to find out how people feel about trees."
