Assynt Mountain Rescue Team search Socach Hill, Brora, in first call-out of 2025





Assynt Mountain Rescue Team received their first call-out of 2025 last night.

Police Scotland requested the team search for a suspected missing person on Socach Hill, Brora.

Nine members of the team along with three dogs and handlers from the Search & Rescue Dog Association (Scotland) searched in deep soft snow under cold clear skies.

A spokesperson for the team said: “We concluded the search at 10.30pm with no sign of anyone in difficulty.”

All members of Assynt Mountain Rescue Team give their time on a completely voluntary basis. The team is on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to help anyone who is in trouble in the mountains.
