Assynt Development Trust (ADT) is encouraging local residents to take part in the Million Mile Beach Clean.

Organised by Surfers Against Sewage, the beach clean is a new campaign which is running throughout 2021.

Clearing even a tiny section of beach makes a huge difference.
Clearing even a tiny section of beach makes a huge difference.

It aims to empower and support 100,000 volunteers to walk 10 miles while picking up litter along the way.

ADT said in an online post: "We have registered for the Million Mile Beach Clean and are supporting individuals and small groups to take on the job of cleaning a section of Assynt coastline – even a tiny section will make a difference."

The group will log the weights of litter collected as requested by the Million Mile campaign.

For more information on how to take part, visit ADT's Facebook page.
