Major General Patrick Marriott, a Littleferry resident and Sutherland Deputy Lieutenant, said: “Armed Forces Week will be marked by a low key ceremony at Drummuie on Monday.

“The Armed Forces flag will be raised there and at Golspie War Memorial.”

Armed Forces Week runs from June 21-27 with Saturday, June 26, designated as Armed Forces Day.

It gives communities, individuals and organisations across the country to show their support for the men and women who make up the armed forces, from currently serving troops to service families, veterans and cadets.
