Second ward closure at NHS Highland's Raigmore Hospital in Inverness

A SECOND ward at Raigmore Hospital in Inverness has been closed after several patients were suffering from diarrhoea and/or vomiting.

There will be no new admissions to Ward 6C and staff will keep in contact with relatives of patients already on the ward.

It comes at NHS Highland said Ward 5C would remain closed over the weekend after an increase in the number of patients suffering with diarrhoea and vomiting.

Ward 5C was closed to new patients on Wednesday following the outbreak.

A spokesman for NHS Highland said: "We would also ask all members of the public that if they have, or live with someone who has, symptoms of diarrhoea and/or vomiting they please refrain from visiting any hospital or care home setting until clear of symptoms for 48 hours."
