Angry Alness driver stopped by police in routine check threw away a cigarette case containing wraps of cocaine

AN Alness driver reacted angrily when stopped by police for a routine document check.
William Wilson, of Kendal Crescent, “immediately became aggressive, shouting at officers,” prosecutor Roderick Urquhart told Tain Sheriff Court on Monday.
Constables then saw Wilson throw away a cigarette pack which hit a parked car. Two wraps spilled out containing a white powder, later identified as cocaine. After being told he was being detained, Wilson struggled with police who found another wrap in his mouth.
The incident happened on July 3 at the car park at Salvesen Crescent, Alness, and the amount of cocaine involved was 3.3g.
Thirty-six-year-old Wilson pleaded guilty by letter to three charges.
He admitted behaving in a threatening or abusive manner likely to cause a reasonable person to suffer fear or alarm. He further admitted being intentionally obstructive to constables, then in execution of their powers under the Misuse of Drugs Act, by struggling with them and attempting to make off. And he pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled drug.
He was fined a total of £320.
