Ambitious project to turn historic Rogart auction mart into a community space nears completion: Opening event hoped to be held next month

Work to convert Rogart auction mart into a traditional music venue is nearly complete, it has been reported.

Rogart Development Trust chairman Jonathan Hedges gave an update on the mart project at a meeting of Rogart Community Council last week.

He said the mart's front doors were due to be installed shortly, and it was hoped to have a grand opening at the beginning of August and the date would be made public. shortly.

Mr Hedges added that it had been intended to retain the mart's loading bays as they had been "a feature of the car park for a long time".

But the bays had "fallen apart" and were found not to have been a "huge block of concrete" as had been first, but merely a concrete skim. Discussions are being held with the contractor as to what to put in their place.
