A stalwart of the agricultural sector in Brora has been presented with an award for long service.

Iain Mackenzie, branch manager for W & A Geddes at their Brora office, has worked for his employers for 32 years, and counting.

This past week, he was presented with the Royal Highland Agricultural Society Scotland (RHASS) long service award - a special dedication for people who have had 30 years of continuous service in the agriculture industry

The award, which RHASS say is “to pay tribute to individuals who have demonstrated exceptional commitment and service to the agricultural industry over many years” was presented to Mr Mackenzie at a special dinner at the Marine Hotel.

Accepting the award, he said he has no plans to call it a day just yet, and plans to see out his working years with W & A Geddes.

Representing the agriculture charity, Mr Bridgeford said: “He began working with me at Petley Farm straight from Agricultural College, before moving on eventually to W & A Geddes.

“Described by both Ewan Mackenzie (owner of W & A Geddes) and RHASS Highland Area Director Dennis Bridgeford, as an ideal employee, Iain was noted for always being smart, tidy, and exceedingly loyal.

“RHASS are delighted to award Iain this certificate.”
