Abusive call was on loud speaker at Police Station
A THREATENING phone call made by an Invergordon teenager was heard by a police officer, Tain Sheriff Court heard yesterday.
Seventeen year old Tamara Walsh, 56b High Street, made the abusive phone call to Polish-born Dominika Hardek on Friday, 15th March.
But Ms Hardek was at Alness Police Station talking to a police officer in relation to another matter at the time and she put the call on to loudspeaker.
“The accused threatened to assault Ms Hardek in fairly graphic terms,” said procurator fiscal Roderick Urquhart.
“The call lasted less than 30 seconds but Miss Hardek was upset and scared.”
Walsh admitted behaving in a threatening or abusive manner likely to cause a reasonable person to suffer fear or alarm by shouting, swearing and making threats to Ms Hardek over the phone.
Defence agent Aileen Macinnes said the two women had previously been friends but had fallen out.
She said Walsh had been in local authority care until she was 16 and was now supported by the Shirlie Project and also by children’s charity Barnardos. Workers from both organisations had accompanied her to court.
The lawyer said: “She is a vulnerable young lady.”
Sheriff Jamie Gilchrist deferred sentence until 16th July for a Criminal Justice social work report.
He told Walsh: “I do not think I should dispose of this case without getting further information about your background.”
