A99 crash kept road at Mid Clyth north of Wick shut for eight hours with an air ambulance landing at the scene





A serious road crash kept the A99 north of Wick closed for almost eight hours on Thursday.

Emergency services, including it is understood an air ambulance, attended the scene of the two-vehicle accident at Mid Clyth which was first reported just after 3pm.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service used cutting equipment following a collision between a car and small van.

Traffic Scotland reported the road as reopened fully at 11.29 pm on Thursday (October 30).

It has not yet been confirmed whether anyone was hurt in the crash.

We contacted police and ambulance for further details yesterday (Thursday) afternoon.
