Dornoch make it three in a row


DORNOCH City made it three wins out of three in the North West Sutherland League with an impressive 5-2 victory over Brora Wanderers at the Meadows last Saturday.

City’s Robbie Allan opened the scoring in the seventh minute with a close range finish.

Cameron Hook doubled the lead when he rounded the Wanderers’ keeper to score.

But the visitors hit back and Mike MacLean scored twice before half time to level matters.

But Hook and Allan both scored after the break to put City 4-2 up.

Hook completed his hat-trick with 10 minutes left on the clock when he found the top corner of the net.

Golspie Stafford also maintained their 100 per cent start with a 3-1 win over Helmsdale United at Stafford Park.

Cameron Sutherland, Gary MacKenzie and Eoghann Davie netted for Stafford, while Kevin Cairns scored United’s goal.

Kinlochbervie kept in touch with the early leaders with a 6-1 win over Tongue United.

Sam Lucas scored twice for KLB, while Peter Paterson, Kyle MacKenzie, Ryan MacPherson and Mark Dorrian got the rest.

Jason MacKay was Tongue’s lone marksman.

Stuart MacKay hit five goals as Lochinver ran riot in a 9-1 win over Embo at Culag Park.

Ben Bruce settled for a hat-trick, while Clarke Hutchison got Lochinver’s goal.

Szilagyi Sandor netted Embo’s consolation.
