Visiting to Ward 2A (Stroke Unit) in Raigmore remains suspended unless under special circumstances and by prior arrangement with the ward.
Any visitors coming to the ward must have arranged this with the ward staff in advance.
This is due to a number of recent cases of Clostridium difficile infection within the ward.
This will remain in place over the New Year and will be revisited at the end of next week (January 5).
This decision has not been taken lightly but is necessary to minimise the risk to other patients on the ward.
NHS Highland say they would like to apologise for any inconvenience this causes but patient safety is their priority.
