The Out-of-Hours (OOHs) provision at the Dunbar Hospital in Thurso will be provided by the on-call OOHs GP from 7pm this evening.
There is no change to accessing emergency services and people should dial 999 if they experience a medical emergency and the Scottish Ambulance Service will respond as appropriate.
If it is not an emergency but cannot wait until normal GP opening hours, the OOHs GP can be accessed via NHS 24 by dialling 111.
The decision to use the on-call GP was made because of staffing pressures at the Minor Injuries Unit/Urgent Care Centre at Dunbar Hospital. Normal service will resume at 7am tomorrow morning.
