Remarkable feat for Horses Help Heroes team

A remarkable challenge for eight wounded servicemen and their support crew to raise money for services' charities, by driving a horse-drawn replica First World War ambulance non stop from Land’s End to John O’Groats, was achieved in nine days.

Their journey included driving through East Sutherland.

This journey was testing for the 22 horses as well as the individuals taking part, but the team received heart-warming support from sponsors and individuals in various counties and the press, and from the massive turnout of regiments and the public in towns, villages, roadsides and schools.

so far, and they hope to achieve Horses Help Heroes has raised well over £300,000 their target of £1m by Christmas as donations are still flooding in through the web site www.horseshelpheroes.org.uk.

This journey was an incredible record breaking feat in honour of all our wounded servicemen and women, and organisers say they hope this will continue to inspire people to give generously.
