The MoD will be conducting low flying exercises in the Lairg/Durness areas, plus Tain, involving fixed wing aircraft and a small number of ground personnel, from July 10-21.

The exercise is designed to practice low flying for operations. Ground-based personnel will be in uniform and there will be no ground-based tactical activity.

Aircraft activity can be expected in the following general areas: Cape Wrath/Durness and Lairg/Loch Shin; Tain Range.

Similar exercises will be held in the Borders, Perth and Angus and other parts of the Highlands.

Out of hours flying has been authorised and noise disturbance may be experienced in

some locations.

The purpose of this circular is to provide notice of military-related activity:

particularly low flying. All personnel involved with the exercise will be briefed on the

requirement to avoid disturbance to livestock and damage to property together with the

procedures for reporting incidents and complaints.
