Sir – I am dismayed beyond belief at SSE's decision to use the A9 through Golspie and Brora to access Gordonbush wind farm. They made a written promise to provide an alternative route via Kilbraur. This will not only totally disrupt the lives of all in Golspie and Brora, but also everyone travelling north to Helmsdale, Caithness and Orkney and conversely everyone travelling from north to south. The A9 is already inadequate and a start date in the spring will be a disaster for not only the residents and tourists but also the Mod in Thurso in October when there will be large numbers of people on the A89. All alternative routes are longer and on single track roads. This is an entirely unacceptable situation and the Highland Council should never have granted planning permission without an acceptable route having been sorted out at the time. We clearly no longer live in a democratic society any more, when people are being ignored in this way. It is unacceptable to build this wind farm at all and planning permission should be revoked.
