BY SHEER happenstance, to use an Americanism, Dornoch Cathedral will host what seems to be a two-day mini-festival of American choirs next week. The Georgia Tech Glee Club, an all-male a cappella group from Atlanta, was founded in 1906 and recently returned from its debut solo appearance in New York's Carnegie Hall. The Westminster Presbyterian Church Choir from Minneapolis are on a Scottish tour taking in performances in Edinburgh, Stirling, Nairn and Glasgow. Each choir will present very different programmes of choral music. The Glee Club will perform at the cathedral on Tuesday, May 6, and the Westminster Choir on Wednesday, May 7, both at 7pm. Admission is free, though there will be an opportunity for a retiral offering to help defray expenses.
