Brendan John Ward graduated from Strathclyde University as Master of Engineering in Civil Engineering (with merit). Brendan attended Tain Royal Academy and is the son of Frank and Irene Ward, St Barr's, Dornoch.

Katie Wagstaffe graduated recently from the University of Stirling with a BSc degree with merit in Nursing. Katie is the eldest daughter of Cheryl Wagstaffe, and stepdaughter of Brian Rush, both Lonemore, Dornoch.

Sarah Walker graduated BA (Hons) in Tourism Management from Glasgow Caledonian University. Sarah is the youngest daughter of Margaret and David Walker, Park House, Lairg, and is a former pupil of Dornoch Academy.

Michael Wales (17) from Lairg passed out from the Army Foundation College in Harrogate after 42 weeks’ training. He is now going to Catterick for a further 10 weeks’ infantry training before joining The Highlanders, 4th Battalion Royal Regiment of Scotland, in Germany. Michael is the son of Fiona and Frank Wales and grandson of Edwin and Beenie Sutherland of Ord Place, Lairg. He attended Lairg Primary and Golspie High School.
