Claire MacDonald, formerly of the Doll, Brora, graduated BA in Human Resource Management from the University of the West of Scotland. A former pupil of Brora Primary School and Millburn Academy, Inverness, Claire is the younger daughter of Ronnie and Gillian MacDonald. She is the granddaughter of Cathy and the late Murdo MacDonald, Peffrey Road, Dingwall and Ian and Pat MacLeod of Resaurie, Inverness.
Euan MacRae graduated from the University of London with a MEng (First Class Honours) in Electronic Engineering. He also had the additional distinction of winning the Principal's Award for Academic Excellence. Euan is the younger son of Eddie and Kathleen MacRae. Eddie comes from Brora and Kathleen (nee Murray) from Helmsdale. Euan's granny, Polly, still lives in Helmsdale and his late uncle was Hector MacRae of Scottish Dance Band fame, who will have been seen and heard by many readers in the 1970s and 80s.

Jenna Macrae graduated from University of Stirling with a BSc in Mental Health Nursing. Jenna is the daughter of Don and Donna Macrae, formerly of Brora, and granddaughter of Donnie and Jenny Macrae and Neil and Joan Macbeath, all Brora. Jenna is now working at New Craigs, Inverness.
Judith MacDougall graduated in Orthodontic Therapy from Warwick University and is now working in orthodontic practices in Taunton and Bristol. Judith lives in Somerset with husband, Ian, son, Chris, and daughter, Hannah. She is the eldest daughter of W A and Cath Sutherland, Rose Cottage, Lady's Loch, Brora.
Jenny MacDonald, daughter of Fiona and Roderick MacDonald, Golspie, graduated Bsc (Hons) in Nursing from Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh. Jenny, a former pupil of Golspie High School, is currently working as a Staff Nurse in the Dialysis Unit at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.
Lisa Mackenzie graduated from University of Stirling with a BA in Adult Nursing. Lisa is the daughter of Elaine Leitch and John Mackenzie, granddaughter of the late Lachie and Mary Leitch and Bob and Nan Mackenzie, Golspie. Lisa has taken up a full time post in the Lawson Hospital.
Carolyn Maclean, a former pupil of Dornoch Academy, graduated from Glasgow College of Nautical Studies with an HND in Sports Coaching with development. She was also awarded the Tunnocks Trophy after being nominated Sports Person of the Year, plus she was given the overall course prize for best student. She is the daughter of Duncan and Ina Maclean, Elizabeth Crescent, Dornoch, who own the local hardware store W A Macdonald.

Lee Mackay of Melvich graduated MSc in Chemical Engineering with Oil and Gas Technology from Heriot Watt University, Edinburgh. A former pupil of Melvich Primary and Farr High School, Lee is the son of Cathel and Lynda Mackay and grandson of David and Lal O'Brien and Netta Mackay. In September Lee begins his career as a process engineer with BP in London.

James Mackay graduated BSc in General Engineering (Civil Engineering) from Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh. A former pupil of Golspie Primary and Golspie High School, James (21) is the youngest son of Linda and the late Jim Mackay and grandson of the late Nan and Donald Mackay of Rogart and Golspie. Linda is a community staff nurse in Tain. Before going off to university, James had an after-school job with the Northern Times.
