Professor Tom Devine

ONE of the leading author's at this year's Inverness Courier backed Inverness Book Festival, historian Tom Devine, has called off his scheduled festival appearance.

Professor  Devine, Senior Research Professor in History at the University of Edinburgh, was to have been the final guest author at this year's festival at Eden Court Theatre on Saturday.

The author and editor of more than three dozen books and a regular  contributor to television, radio and newspapers, he was to have discussed his most recent bestseller To the Ends of the Earth: Scotland's Global Diaspora 1750-2010.
