Eleven young members of Kinlochbervie Camanachd took part in a fund raising challenge last Friday, pulling two road sledges the last 11 miles back to school.
The event is part of a national initiative to mark the centenary of Scott's Antarctic Expedition co-ordinated by Inspire Youth Development.
The last 11 miles signifies the distance Scott and his men were from their stores depot when they perished after running out of food and fuel.
The shinty group started their pull just south of Badnabay, near Scourie, heading back to Kinlochbervie High School via Laxford Bridge and Rhiconich.
They pulled in relay, running most of the 11 miles taking just 1hr 50 minutes to complete the challenge, a great feat considering the hilly roads they travelled.
It is unknown how much money was raised for the shinty club but it looks to be in excess of £1000, a fantastic effort from a dedicated bunch of players.
Last Saturday Kinlochbervie Camanachd played Strathspey in the Camanachd Association Development League.
It was a very close 9-a-side game played in Scourie, with Kinlochbervie Camanachd just clinching it 6-5.
The goal scorers were: KLB - James Dorrian, Oliver Feliz (2), Iain Allison, Jack Hatherall (2) and Strathspey - Andy Hay (5).
It was a great afternoon of shinty played in great spirit by both teams.
