ANOTHER connection to the five time Open Champion James Braid, who visited Brora in 1923 and set out the design of the course, was made at Brora last week when the second Professional Golfers Optical Express, Northern Links 36 hole challenge tournament, was played over the links and David Patrick of the Elie Golf Centre, which lies close to the birthplace of Braid, set a new Brora course record score of 63.
