The owner of Waterloo Lodge in Lochinver is ‘seeing stars’ after the business was awarded a 5-star self catering rating in VisitScotland’s Quality Assurance scheme.
And that was on their first application for grading status.
Waterloo Lodge was recently built by Jason Macleod and offers its guests luxury self-catering accommodation with stunning views over Lochinver and the surrounding mountains.
Built to accommodate anglers, walkers, bird-watchers or anyone who loves nature, the Lodge offers guest the opportunity to experience the spectacular natural environment in absolute comfort and luxury.
The property has been built with the environment very much in mind. Building materials are responsibly sourced and a state-of-the art geothermal system installed to heat the property.
Mr Macleod says: "I’m absolutely thrilled that Waterloo Lodge has achieved 5 stars, it means that all our effort and hard work has been recognised. Waterloo Lodge offers a peaceful retreat set in an area of outstanding natural beauty. The property has been designed to make the most of the stunning location and we even have an outdoor jacuzzi so our guests can relax overlooking the bay and magnificent Assynt mountain range.”
Scott Armstrong, VisitScotland Regional Director added: “I would like to offer my sincere congratulations to Jason, on achieving the top grading. Our Quality Assurance scheme helps businesses to reach their full potential and truly shine. The scheme is about more than just the ‘stars’ on the door - it’s about the entire visitor experience, about investing in your business and making it as economically sustainable as it can possibly be.”
