25 YEARS AGO (February 13th, 1987) A high speed Aran-class lifeboat is to be provided by the RNLI for Lochinver, to give better coverage following the tragic loss of the Banff fishing boat Bon Ami in December 1985 off Kinlochbervie with all six hands.

25 YEARS AGO (January 30th, 1987) Northern Constabulary detectives are investigating the theft of a substantial sum of money and a large quantity of cigarettes from the sub-post office at Rogart on on Monday night. The theft was discovered by storekeeper Sandy Mackenzie and his staff when they opened up the shop on Tuesday morning.

Golspie Golf Club used to hold an annual Fancy Dress Parade from the Drill Hall to the clubhouse. Pictured in 1955 are the first prize winners, both aged 15 - June Melville (now Mrs G A Mackay, living in Montreal, Canada) and Annie MacDonald (now Mrs Sand 25 YEARS AGO (February 6th, 1987) Confidence in Kinlochbervie harbour development was boosted by the January landing figures. When they had finished their sums, office staff exclaimed: "We've cracked the million!"
